Software engineer building products that people actually use.

I build with Python, TypeScript, React, FastAPI, and AWS across full-stack apps, backend systems, and AI-powered tools that are reliable, useful, and ready to grow.

Building software with strong engineering signal

Portrait of Andisha Safdariyan

I am a software engineer and Cornell University computer science graduate with experience building full-stack applications, cloud-based systems, and AI-powered products.

My work spans backend engineering, distributed systems, machine learning, developer tooling, and modern web development. Through internships, research, and product-focused engineering projects, I have built workflow orchestration systems, role-based web platforms, voice AI integrations, and analytics-driven applications.

I enjoy solving hard technical problems, designing dependable systems, and turning complex ideas into products that are practical for real users and real teams.

The code matters, but so does the person behind it.

Continuous Learning

Hackathons, summits, internships, and side projects keep me learning beyond the classroom and close to how strong teams build real software.

What Drives Me

I am most energized by building technology that is useful, reliable, and grounded in real user problems across AI, backend systems, and full-stack products.

Recent work focused on product impact

Software Engineering Intern

ProNexus AI

Brooklyn, NY · Summer 2025

Built AI-powered onboarding workflows that turned conversations into structured business data, reduced manual review, and improved the speed of expert screening.

  • Developed conversational workflows using Retell AI and LLM-based processing.
  • Helped reduce onboarding time by about 25 percent by replacing manual interview flow.
  • Designed a LinkedIn-based fraud detection workflow with roughly 82 percent precision.

Full-Stack Developer

DECA Lab, Cornell University

Ithaca, NY · Spring 2026

Contributed to a web and mobile platform for structured environmental audits, analytics, reporting, and offline-first field workflows for researchers and auditors.

  • Built role-based flows for managers, administrators, and auditors.
  • Implemented offline mobile support, synchronization, and reporting features.
  • Worked across frontend, backend, and mobile code with collaborative engineering workflows.

More of the work that shaped how I build

CSMore Teaching Assistant

Supported students in an early computer science learning environment, helping make technical concepts more approachable while strengthening my own communication, mentorship, and problem-solving skills.

  • Guided students through coursework, questions, and debugging moments.
  • Strengthened my ability to explain technical ideas clearly and patiently.

CSMore Participant to TA

Going from participant to teaching assistant is one of the clearest examples of my growth story: learning first, then giving back by helping others build confidence in computer science.

  • Represents long-term commitment to learning, leadership, and community.
  • Shows a full-circle path from student growth to mentorship.

Research & Technical Exploration

Research and technical exploration have pushed me to think more deeply about how systems work, ask better questions, and approach engineering problems with rigor.

  • Built stronger habits around experimentation, analysis, and iterative problem-solving.
  • Expanded the way I connect theory to practical engineering work.

Campus Work & Professional Presence

Roles like working with the library and participating in conferences and summits reflect a mix of reliability, professionalism, and curiosity that carries into how I show up on engineering teams.

  • Built consistency, responsibility, and strong interpersonal communication.
  • Stayed engaged with both campus community and broader professional spaces.

Some of my favorite things I’ve built so far

Backend Infrastructure

Athena Spark Orchestration for Apache Airflow

Extended Airflow’s Amazon provider to support Athena Spark workloads through custom hooks, operators, and sensors for job submission and monitoring.

  • Added provider-native abstractions for Athena Spark execution lifecycles.
  • Improved visibility into job state, failure handling, and orchestration flow.
  • Structured the work like an upstream-ready open source contribution.
Python Apache Airflow AWS Athena Spark
Startup Intelligence

Always-On VC Analyst

Built a role-based startup intelligence product with a Next.js frontend and FastAPI backend for company discovery, memo generation, narrative comparison, and workflow tracking.

  • Implemented VC, startup, and investor workflows on one shared product system.
  • Added deterministic matching, memo generation, and drift analysis flows.
  • Shipped a polished local MVP with authentication, dashboards, and seeded company data.
Next.js TypeScript FastAPI SQLAlchemy SQLite
Voice AI Workflow

Retell Custom LLM Integration

Built a custom LLM voice workflow that plugs into Retell through a websocket interface, enabling controllable AI-driven call behavior and backend orchestration.

  • Connected a custom LLM service to a live voice agent flow.
  • Designed for local development, API configuration, and public tunnel testing.
  • Showed practical experience with voice tooling, prompt logic, and real-time integration.
